MindanaoToday.com | Rufus leads groundbreaking for additional P295M Macabalan-Bonbon bridge project
CAGAYAN DE ORO 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez led the groundbreaking ceremony for the continuation of the Macabalan-Bonbon bridge construction, with a budget allocation of P295 million for fiscal year 2024.
The Macabalan-Bonbon Bridge is part of the city’s new western diversion road, which provides an alternate route within Cagayan de Oro for the traveling public.
The bridge has a total estimated length of 1,188.80 meters, with two-lane carriageways. The project also includes funding for access roads to the bridge.
From FY 2021 up to this year, Rodriguez has secured a total of P1.8 billion for the completion of the Macabalan-Bonbon bridge.
The groundbreaking ceremony was also joined by officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways-10, including Construction Division Chief Engr. Jesse Peliño, and Barangay Macabalan officials led by Chairman Saniel Raypon, Kag. Estrella Lumba, Kag. Nestor Gonzaga, and SK Chairperson Philip John Rodriguez. (PR)
