MindanaoToday.com | RTMI launches city buses to ply Dipolog route
DIPOLOG CITY – Residents here have warmly welcomed the arrival of modernized public transport operated by the Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. (RTMI) that is now catering commuters of this city and nearby towns and villages.
According to the RTMI, an initial of four city buses will begin their operation on July 2 this year, mainly plying the Sicayab-Dipolog City-Diwan and vice versa route, which will also pass through the Phil. science High School, GSIS, Galas port, Dipolog Airport, and the BIR.
The RTMI said these new public utility vehicles is an advantageous to the area’s commuters as, just like, in other countries, there will now be designated pick-up points and bus stops within the city allowing for faster movement of products and economy.
The bus management added that the safety and comfort of the riding public is RTMI’s priority.
Meanwhile, in his Facebook post, Dipolog Mayor Darel Dexter Uy called the RTMI city bus operation as “good news.”
“In response to public demand this mini-bus route has been opened to better serve our riding public. Ang mini-bus makapasakay ug makapanaog lang ug pasahero sa mga pinili lamang nga bus stops, aduna usab kini interval sa ilang schedule sa pagbyahe. (Passengers may only embark or alight at designated bus stops, as these (mini-buses) have interval of their scheduled trips),” Uy added.
