THE Mindanao Development Authority conducts an Online Learning Session with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) as an initial activity for MinDA’s aqua-fishery projects in the provinces of Parang, Maguindanao; Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay; and Bislig, Surigao del Sur.
This learning session aims to gather insightful inputs for the project profile that MinDA is coming up with for investors of the said projects.
These investors, including US-Filipino Navy retirees and stakeholders from Indonesia, are looking for a possible source of high-value fish supplies.
They are not just interested buyers but are willing investors to counterpart financing for some of the activities/facilities needed in the whole value chain development cycle as well.
The BFAR shared presentations on National Mariculture Center and Mariculture Parks and its Operation and Post-Harvest Processing.
MinDA partnered with BFAR as a knowledgeable information source with their conducted studies, ready scientific materials, regulatory requirements issued, and insights on the LGU level in governance, among others.
Inputs gathered today will be added to other research materials consolidated by the MinDA team dedicated to rightfully facilitating, coordinating, and providing technical assistance to the projects. MinDA aims to boost the agri-fisheries sector as part of its 10-point economic recovery agenda. (MinDA)
