HUNDREDS of families affected by Typhoon #OdettePH in Siargao island have received urgently needed food, drinking water and household items recently.

We supported our primary humanitarian partner, the Philippine Red Cross, in their TY Odette relief efforts in Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands by providing them with:

1. Food rations with 25 kg rice, condiments, cooking oil and sardines

2. Purified water bottles (10 liter, 6.6. liter or 6 liter)

3. Essential household items (jerry cans, blankets, mats, mosquito nets, tarpaulins)

4. Kitchen sets

In the coming days, more typhoon-affected families are expected to receive relief items from the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The ICRC is also supporting PRC’s effort to re-establish and/or maintain contact with the families separated by TY Odette.

We will continue to coordinate closely with the PRC and our RCRC Movement partners, as well as other humanitarian agencies, to ensure that the Red Cross are able to reach those most in need. (ICRC Philippines)
