ILIGAN CITY – Families affected by typhoon Odette here thanked the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) through its Revenue District Office (RDO) 101 for their outpouring assistance.
Rohaima Panandigan of Barangay Mandulog expressed gratitude to the RDO 101 for the support extended to them. According to her, the onslaught of Odette caused their house to vanish.
“Thank you very much for the help of the BIR. This is a big help to us because we only rely on my husband's salary for our needs,” said Panandigan.
Jennifer Estrellanes, a resident of Barangay Dalipuga, recounted how the typhoon damaged their house, forcing them to relocate due to the risk of landslides in their location.
She said the relief aid is helpful for them as they have difficulty in recovering from the incident.
“We are very grateful to the BIR. This is a big help especially that now we are in dire need,” she said.
Meanwhile, it will not be difficult for Jasmin Tomondong and her husband to feed their six children as they received much relief aid.
She said that the salary that her husband receives from construction work is insufficient to sustain their needs. Their small sari-sari store and house also vanished because of Odette.
A total of 21 affected families received relief packs containing five kilos of rice, and grocery items consisting of milk, canned goods, condiments, among others. The households received relief packs depending on the number of their dependents. (LELA | PIA Iligan)
