MISAMIS Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano gave his provincial address and formally opened the 9th Kuyamis Festival, the last in his three-year term as the province’s chief executive, Monday.

The event was also the celebration of the 92nd Founding Anniversary of Misamis Oriental during the official opening of the 9th Kuyamis Oriental Festival on January 10, 2022.

Just as the father of the province had started his message, Emano noted that the accomplishment that his administration has done is not his along but through the collaborative efforts of all employees of the Provincial Capitol.

“This is not ‘Taho of Bambi Emano.’ Let’s change it into ‘Taho Nato sa Katawhan sa Misamis Oriental,’ because it’s not mine and it can never be mine, it is ours; each and every one of you was a part of what we’ll hopefully be able to share with you today,” the governor said.

Emano’s State of the Province Address (SOPA) also highlighted the successes that happened within three terms, where tourism became its flagship program.

He expected that despite many programs and projects implemented within his administration but there are still many that should be maintained and implemented and it is his hope that it will continue if gubernatorial candidate, Gingoog City Vice Mayor Peter Unabia, will win in next year’s elections.

“We've done much, but we're very far from where we want to go. Kini ang klaro nga kung ako ni nakuha, unsa nalang kaha sa akong mga kauban those who will help each other, and those who will not make politics an obstacle. I am certain that what we started will continue, for I believe in the leadership of Governor Peter Unabia,” the governor said.

The SOPA started with a holy mass and ended with cutting of ribbon to officially open the 9th Kuyamis Festival where many activities await a week of celebration.
