CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - IN implementing the 'no movement day or days' policy, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 reminds local government units (LGUs) to still comply with the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) resolutions.

“If public transport is allowed, for example in Enhanced Community Quarantine, it means to say that we only limit the number of passengers but we cannot suspend the public transport and at the same time, we wanted to clarify that if it's for essential purposes, we could not restrain people to go outside of their homes,” DILG-10 Regional Director Arnel Agabe said.

The regional director further shared during the NorMin Covid-19 Response Task Force press conference, September 17, that authorized persons outside of residence (APORs), especially the health care workers and the workers of establishments allowed to operate even on weekends, and those in emergency situations should be exempted from the said policy.

DILG-10 urged the local chief executives to come up with complementary regulations and guidelines that are compliant with the IATF resolutions.

As of September 17, DILG-10 has recorded seven LGUs in Misamis Occidental, which issued executive orders on ‘no movement day’ policy.

The LGUs include Oroquieta City that will implement the 'no movement day' on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to Monday of 4:00 a.m.; Tangub, Saturday; Jimenez, Saturday; Plaridel, Saturday from 3:00 a.m. to 10 p.m., Calamba, Sunday; and Bonifacio, Saturday from 3:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

“This is one of the prevention measures to contain and decrease the number of COVID-19 cases in our respective local government units here in northern Mindanao,” Agabe added. (RTP | PIA-10)
