CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The Bureau of Customs-10 (BOC-10) held a cornerstone-laying ceremony on September 30, 2021, for the construction of the new Mindanao Container Terminal (MCT) subport building inside the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate in Barangay Sugbongcogon, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

The two-storey building will be built on a 5,000-square meter lot donated by PHIVIDEC to BOC.

In her speech, Atty. Elvira Cruz, BOC-CDO's District Collector said, “It is high time for the BOC-MCT to have its own office after many years to cater growing stakeholders that are transacting with the Bureau and to further enhance the ease-of-doing-business campaign of the government by giving quality service to stakeholders”.

The subport of MCT consistently contributes 70-80 percent to the total revenue collection of BOC-District X.

John Simon, MCT subport Collector said that “This building will have a Customer Care Center, Collector’s Office, Assessment Area, Port Operations, CIIS office, and ESS office, fitting for a modernized customs administration.”

Since its inception in 2006, BOC-MCT is conducting its operations in a donated one-storey building in the PHIVIDEC compound.

The target date of completion of the new BOC-MCT building is expected in April 2022.
