Pizzazella – tossed and sauced to perfection

WHEN you’re a chef who loves Italian pizza but has been influenced by Arabic cuisine for so long, the result is an amazing fusion of flavors that can only be found in Pizzazella here in Cagayan de Oro City.

When it opened in July last year at Centerpoint Arcade along Domingo Velez corner Corrales, Pizzazella was so popular with diners that owner-chef Harry Mann decided to open up another branch uptown soon at Plates and Crates Food Park along Masterson Avenue.

“My first chef is my mom. When we were young, my mom would make us homemade pizza Italian style. Now when I became a chef for 15 years in Qatar and Dubai, I fell in love with spicy Arabic food,” Mann said.

And so Mad Manzo was born.

Mad Manzo is the only pizza variant in this part of Mindanao that is spicy in taste tossed in tomato sauce, mozzarella and chef-mixed cheese, chili paste, chili powder, ground beef, mushroom, two types of union and red bell pepper.

Of course, they still have other equally unique flavors such as My Spinto Deep, My Polpa Deep, El Mio Carne, My Bora (massive proteina), Mad Polo (spiaci chichen flavo), margherita, super aglio, fino mista and the classics: Hawaii ham, Hawaii beef, Hawaii polo, il mio peppero, il mio vegetal and il cheesy.

And what’s even better, you can mix various pizza flavors in twos per serving.

On the side, Pizzazella serves buffalo wings, grilled breast chicken, pork baby back, spicy pork sisig, deep fried chicken, sizzling shrimps, fried chicken steak and beef rolls.

For quenchers, they serve their own signature lemon cucumber and a range of soda beverages.
