MISAMIS ORIENTAL – The Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental has again hailed the Gotianun-led FDC Misamis Power Corporation (FDC Misamis) as its number one real property taxpayer for 2021.

The power firm has held the title for four consecutive years since 2018, remitting hundreds of millions in real estate taxes annually.

This year alone, FDC Misamis paid over P223 million to PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate. Of the total, P51,476,247.71 went to the Province of Misamis Oriental.

“Siguro ang pagkamatinud-anon ang sekreto sa sige og una because it is always the principle of the group, dili lang mi sa power plant but all kapamilya sa Filinvest,” said FDC Misamis President and CEO Juan Eugenio L. Roxas.

“It has always been the principle of the company to pay the taxes, mao siguro nga four years kalouy sa diyos kita gihapon ang top-notch,” Roxas continued.

Roxas expressed gratitude to the provincial government, saying, “magpasalamat ko sa probinsya sa liderato ni Governor Bambi Emano, dili nila obligation nga pasidunggan kami, kon dili among obligation nga magbayad og buwis, but unsa ilang gihimo ila kitang gi-recognize, pasalamat mi nga nakita namo asa nipaingon among buhis nga gibayad.”

Local officials assured that the taxes collected will fund various development programs.

Acting Provincial Treasurer Mr. Ronald Jame D. Violon said, "paying taxes is an obligation. It supports the government's projects and programs' implementations. It is the lifeblood of the government. The more tax paid, the more programs and projects can be implemented."

Vice Governor Jeremy Jonahmar Pelaez affirmed Violon's statement.

“Rest assured nga kining inyong tax nga inyong gibayad sa amoa mahimo kining serbisyo sa atong katawhan. As your leaders amo kining ipahimutang og insakto kay sayod kitang tanan nga the province is doing well with the leadership of our good Governor, Gov. Bambi Emano," said Pelaez.

FDC Misamis is proud to contribute to Misamis Oriental's evident development, such as infrastructure.

Roxas notes the firm will continue to deliver uninterrupted power, especially during the upcoming national elections. He said since the firm has recently vaccinated 100% of its workforce and completed periodic maintenance activities, FDC Misamis is ready to respond to the electricity needs of Mindanao customers as the region slowly revives its economy.

“As we look forward to recovering from the pandemic, FDC Misamis will continue to do its best in being a partner in community development and provide reliable and cost-effective electricity that Mindanao needs the most,” concludes Roxas. (PR)
