Mindanaotoday.com | BOC-10 exceeds July 2022 target, logs P3.3B revenue collection
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Bureau of Customs Port of Cagayan de Oro, Collection District 10 (BOC-10) and its sub-ports Mindanao Container Terminal, Port of Iligan and Port of Ozamiz led by District Collector lawyer Elvira Cruz, exceeded its July 2022 target revenue collection.
The port posted a revenue of P3,393,668,130.82 for the month of July surpassing its assigned target P2,907,171.00 with a surplus of P 486,497,130.82 or a 16.73% positive deviation.
Cruz commends the men and women of the Collection District X for their hard work and dedication which resulted in efficient revenue collection that will contribute to the government coffers.
Aside from revenue generation, the port is committed to maintain border security measures against undervaluation, misdeclaration, and other forms of technical smuggling.
Meanwhile, the sub-port of Iligan, together with the Criminal Investigation Detection Group Lanao Del Sur Provincial Field Unit, seized smuggled cigarettes on July 12, 2022 at Brgy. Matampay, Balagabagan, Lanao del sur.
The operation resulted in the discovery of 650 reams of smuggled Fort brand cigarettes with an estimated value of P187,500.00.
Warrant of Seizure and Detention was issued against the subject goods pursuant to Section 1113 (Property Subject to Seizure and Forfeiture) of R.A. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
The seized goods shall be turned over to the Enforcement and Security Service District Office of the Port of Cagayan de Oro for appropriate disposal.
Sub-port Collector Nasrudin Guro assures the public that the Port shall continue to fulfill its mandate of protecting the country’s borders against the proliferation of illicit goods. (BOC-10)
