*Bulua Lady Strikers win U18 and U15 categories, Lumbia Raptors FC-FFF take home the U13 title and were runner-up in the U15 while Higala FC Women’s team won their nth title this year when the Higala girls capture the Women’s Open division championship trophy.
CAGAYAN de Oro City – Bulua Lady Strikers dominated in their home turf pocketing two titles, a runner-up finish and a a third place trophy to win big in the PIA Football 4th Bulua Fiesta Futsal Cup held at the Bulua National High School gym.
Strikers of coach Jun Actub won the Girls U18 category in the first day, defeating Higala FC-St. Mary’s School, 3-0, in the championship match.
They also dominated the players’ awards with Norjean Palatis winning the Best Pivot Award, Alliyah Surpass the Best Goalkeeper Award, and Queency Love Canaman Best Striker. Higala FC’s Loisse Looking won the Best Defender Award.
Higala FC-St. Mary’s Academy was runner-up while third placer was Valencia National High School of Bukidnon which defeated Lumbia Raptors FC-FFF in the battle for third, 1-0.
The Lumbia Raptors-FFF for the first time in their club history finally won a title, this time in the U13 category. The Raptors with only six players competing, finished the 3-team competition with two wins, one draw and one loss slate in the double round robin competition.
Hillsiders FC took home the 1st runner-up trophy with two wins and two loses while Bulua Central School was third with one win, one draw and two losses.
The Raptors also dominated the top players awards with Ferlene Kate Albarico winning the Best Pivot Award, Karylle Grace Jaraula the Best Defender Award, and Xenah Delima, the Best Goalkeeper Award. Trixie Tapangot of Hillsiders FC took home the Best Winger Award.
Bulua Lady Strikers also won the Girls U15 category during the second day. The Lady Strikers swept their three games assignment to win the title. They won over Xavier Crusaders 1-0, Bulua National High School 4-0, and against Lumbia Raptors FC 2-0.
Lumbia Raptors FC finished runner-up with two wins, winning over Xavier University Crusaders 9-0, Bulua National High School 1-0, but lost to Bulua Strikers FC 0-2. Bulua NHS was third and XU fourth.
The Lady Strikers also dominated the top players with Rhea Jane Liogan winning the Best Pivot Award, Pauline Louise Labita the Best Defender Award, and Twinkle Paid the Best Goalkeeper Award. Lumbia’s Precious Mary Exequil took home the Best Winger Award.
Coach Paul Cabio’s Higala FC won the Women’s Open title beating Bulua Strikers Ladies 1-0, in the championship match. The Higala Girls advanced to the championship after beating UST-P 2-1 in the semis.
The Higala Girls also dominated the individual player’s awards with Alexa Cailing winning the Best Pivot Award, Angel Kaye Buendia the Best Defender Award, and Mikylla Albarico winning the Best Goalkeeper Award. Bulua’s Patricia Orillo won the Best Winger Award.
